This soccer-ball-shaped coffret made of tin was created for Rabanne Invictus Limited Edition.

The project outcome

We push the limits of the metal’s resistance and develop specific tooling. This box required close to 10 successive production operations, from stretching and shaping to the embossing that mimics a ball’s leather stitches. The brand name and logo are debossed, while additional information is screen-printed in black and white.

The project outcome

This sustainable wooden box is finished in a matt white lacquer. A balance between layers of paint, assembly and final finish had to be studied to achieve the brand’s identification codes. A new laser-cutting technique was also developed to meet expectations.

The Lancôme advent calendar immerses consumers in a Lancôme gift pop-up during a starry night.

The project outcome

It reinvents traditional calendar boxes in a magical, unstructured organization, which has represented a real technical challenge. The closure system, a free magnet, holds both flaps firmly in place, without the risk of them opening. The starry sky, made from a single sheet of paper, is glued to the structure to create curves. As a monomaterial pack, this calendar is environmentally friendly.

Created for the launch of the wiskey « Midleton Very Rare Forêt de Tronçais” by Midleton Very Rare (Irish Distillers, Pernod Ricard group), this box is produced in France, in the Jura Mountains. An exceptional piece, only 1400 will be sold this year.

The project outcome

This cabinet is made from fine oak from the Tronçais forest, the same wood as the casks in which the whiskey has matured. The design, both inside and out, highlights this exceptional wood from an eco-managed forest where natural regeneration and preservation of the ecosystem are important. On the outside, metal inlays highlight the natural beauty of wood grain. The opening reveals 3 panels enhanced by intricate laser engraving, that pay homage to the French woodland and its role in this whiskey’s story.

These Yves Saint Laurent coffrets are designed to contain a selection of the brand’s iconic skincare, make-up and perfume products in mini sizes. Available in five different formats, this new generation of coffrets conveys the brand’s characteristic premium codes while meeting the challenge of sustainable eco-packaging.

The projet outcome

Built around a rigid frame coated with Brossulin paper printed in matte black, these boxes mark the beginning of a new concept of cardboard trays. These deep trays incorporate cutout shapes and are clipped into their housing thanks to a slot system. They are then covered with the same paper, perfectly adapted to the products, guaranteeing a structure as solid as if they were made of plastic.They also feature a clever flap closure that holds the lid in place without the use of magnets. As for their decoration, the famous logo designed by Cassandre is either hot-stamped or made from gold-colored metal, applied by hand for a beautiful 3D effect.

Presented in a sumptuous box, the Belle Jeanne decanter (in reference to Jeanne Coutanseaux, the sister of founder, Joachim Coutanseaux, and a central figure in the history of the House) is a sensation. Designed as a display object, but also as a transport box, this high-end envelope, symbol of excellence and influence of French luxury, highlights this 5-liter bottle.

The project outcome

The 100% recycled and recyclable grey board construction, covered with white paper, combines luxury and eco-responsibility. The commitment is also social, as the factory is run entirely by women; also as a new tribute to Jeanne. The paper’s immaculate appearance refers to purity of the eaux-de-vie selected, while the golden hoops recall the hoops of the barrels. Upon opening, the sense of surprise continues with the revelation of a golden interior shimmering with radiant reflections, enveloping La Belle Jeanne like a luminous halo.

This beauty advent calendar is in in the Maison’s emblematic red, enhanced by hot-stamped gold details and a luggage carrier motif on the front, whose simplicity is only apparent since the motif must technically continue perfectly between the two flaps. The ingenious interlocking closure system eliminates the need for magnets, while the brand logo is beautifully displayed. Monomaterial and FSC-certified, this calendar is environmentally friendly. It’s also designed to last, thanks to its rigid boxes, and can eventually be reused for other purposes by customers

GPA Global, in collaboration with Here Design, had the privilege of crafting the exceptional packaging for Glendalough’s Mizunara 7-Year Single Malt Whiskey. Mark Anthony, the esteemed client, approached us with a unique request for a premium rigid box that would embody the essence of this vibrant and delicate whiskey.

With a keen understanding of their vision and a commitment to delivering on time, we embarked on an inspiring journey of collaboration and creativity.

The Project Outcome

We successfully translated Glendalough’s vision into a remarkable packaging solution for their Mizunara 7-Year Single Malt Whiskey.

Using core-dyed PMS matched textured paper in an elegant shade of grey, and luxurious smooth uncoated paper in a rich red for the lid lining, we created a visually striking box. The design accommodated both the 700ml and 750ml versions, with an internal red spacer ensuring a secure fit for the 700ml bottle.

The application of hot foiling techniques with gold, red, and black foils added an opulent touch, while the premium textured paper and embossed, hot foiled Saint Kevin of Glendalough logo on the lid label further elevated the packaging’s presentation.

With a strong commitment to sustainability, all packaging elements, including the box, tissue paper, and labels, were 100% recyclable. The fully branded and reusable shipper cases minimized waste, exemplifying our dedication to sustainable solutions.

In summary, GPA Global and Here Design’s collaboration delivered an exquisite packaging solution that authentically represents Glendalough’s Mizunara 7-Year Single Malt Whiskey. Our attention to detail, craftsmanship, and sustainability culminated in a captivating whiskey experience for discerning consumers.

Therabody, a leading brand in the wellness industry, partnered with GPA to undergo a packaging transformation journey that prioritized sustainability and enhanced the unboxing experience. The project aimed to develop a packaging solution that embodied Therabody’s brand values while significantly reducing the environmental impact. The project faced key challenges, including striking a balance between quality and sustainability, reducing packaging size and weight without compromising product safety, and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, fossil fuel usage, and water consumption.

The Project Outcome

Through meticulous redesign and optimization, the Therabody packaging transformation project achieved remarkable outcomes that aligned with the brand’s values and sustainability goals. The project’s results were:

• Packaging Size and Shipping Distance: The packaging redesign successfully reduced packaging size by 52%, leading to a substantial 50% decrease in shipping distance. This achievement translated into significant environmental benefits, saving over one million nautical miles.
• Greenhouse Gas Emissions: The project’s sustainable packaging approach resulted in a remarkable 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. This reduction equates to safeguarding 1,450 acres of forest annually, emphasizing Therabody’s commitment to environmental preservation.
• Fossil Fuel Usage: By optimizing packaging materials and design, the project achieved a nearly 50% reduction in fossil fuel usage. This reduction is equivalent to the energy required to power 2,230 homes for an entire year, showcasing the project’s positive impact on energy conservation.
• Water Consumption: The redesigned packaging achieved a substantial 57% reduction in water consumption. This reduction is equivalent to conserving 108 Olympic swimming pools, highlighting Therabody’s commitment to water conservation.
• Unboxing Experience: The project successfully delivered an exceptional unboxing experience that resonated with Therabody’s customers while maintaining the brand’s high-quality standards. The packaging solution not only embraced sustainability but also created a lasting impression, fostering brand loyalty.

The brand was founded by Don Julio González in 1942, and boasts a variety of different tequilas, including one very special version: Don Julio 1942.

This special drink is aged for at least two and a half years, and is known for its warm caramel and vanilla tasting notes, and distinctive bottle. It’s a tequila favoured by connoisseurs, often enjoyed by famous faces such as Kylie Jenner. The GPA Luxury team has been manufacturing the packaging for Don Julio for several years, and recently, we continued the tradition by crafting a premium gift box for the 1942.

We began by creating the core of the pack: a statuesque, rigid board structure made from premium recycled greyboard. Though the box is rectangular when closed, the door opens along a diagonal line, giving the pack distinctive angles.

We wrapped the outside with Kraft paper, printed in a shade of rich brown. During this process, we were careful to maintain a smooth and uniform distribution of colour without compromising on the texture of the paper. Embellishing the exterior are gold and gloss colour-matched areas of foiling, drawing attention to the Don Julio 1942 branding.

Upon opening the pack, the luxurious interior is revealed. The bottle is held in a brown fitment, which is surrounded by a compartment lined with gold paper, partially visible when the box is closed. The tall and slender bottle of Don Julio is held within a recess in the base of the box, and secured further via an integral neck clip.

The final details are the text on the inside of the door and the subtle geometric pattern printed onto the gold interior, which mirrors the angular lines of the pack.

The talented team at GPA Global was given the opportunity to collaborate with Dutch home and fragrance brand Marie-Stella-Maris, creating a beautiful run of packaging for both their limited-edition Festive and Mother’s Day lines.

Founded in 2011 by former Scotch and Soda owner Patrick Marie Stella Maris Munster, Marie-Stella-Maris has been redefining luxury from day one, with its commitment to environment-conscious production and fixed donation of profits towards sustainable water projects. Inspired by the human right to clean water and sanitation, the company has so far donated more than 1,800,000 euros and helped over 70,000 people to gain access to these basic needs.

We wanted to create luxury packaging that would reflect this ethos, providing an experience for the user both in the aesthetic design of the pack, and the functional experience. It was important that the end result represented and elevated the product inside while adhering to the environmental and social values of Marie-Stella-Maris.

The Project Outcome

The result of this collaboration was two beautifully designed lines of packaging, each perfectly complementing the product it contained, while showcasing the eco and social credentials of Marie-Stella-Maris.

Wanting to keep the packaging as sustainable as possible, we turned first to pioneering paper supplier Velpa, a Dutch company specialising in paper made from recyclable materials.

For this packaging, we used paper from three of their ranges: Denimised, which consists of 50% fibres from recycled jeans, Cocoality, which is crafted from finely ground cocoa bean husks, and Valorise, which owes its origins to the fibres of tomato plants.

We wanted this packaging to function seamlessly while offering an enhanced user experience. Simple rigid fitments were installed to keep the various products in place, and either a lift-off lid or fold-out box design was employed depending on the contents within. The use of soft-touch laminate added to the luxury feel, engaging further senses for a more holistic experience.

For the Mother’s Day line, which included a No. 10 Rock Rose scented Hand and Body Gift Set and a Luxury Fragrance Stick Set, we opted for a plain white background adorned with polka dots in various shades of blush. Inspired by the soft petal-pink hues of confetti, this gave the design a fun and feminine feel, while evoking the floral product within.

When it came to the Festive No. 12 fragrance line, we took a bolder approach, choosing to contrast a soft black laminate background with white ink and a glittering gold-splash design, using premium quality gold foils. This not only added a sense of luxury but also represented the brand’s belief in the golden value of clean water. The foil also perfectly complemented the gold accenting of the products within, which consisted variously of a gold-dipped candle, a fragrance stick and candle Home Gift Set, and a Luxury Fragrance Stick Gift Set.

Using normal ink, we then printed ingredient lists and instructions for use directly onto the packaging, as well as a brand logo and mission statement from Marie-Stella-Maris on the interior.

A Deluxe limited edition gift box

Guitarist and composer Pat Metheny is one of the biggest names in American jazz, boasting 20 Grammy Awards and 3 gold albums to date. To celebrate the release of his new album ‘Road to the Sun’, BMG Music wanted to create a Deluxe limited edition gift set, which would provide fans with a unique and beautiful product to match their experience of the music they love.

BMG Music reached out to our European team at GPA Global, requesting a packaging design that could safely house a two-12” LP set, a CD case, and two music score books, while providing the overall product with a sleek and premium feel. They were also keen for the gift set to include an autographed element, creating a more intimate user experience.

The completed pack for Pat Metheny’s ‘Road to the Sun’ has been carefully designed to provide a stylish home for the gift set, with the limited run of 2000 copies providing that extra touch of exclusivity.

Alongside the CD and LPs, the gift set includes two wiro-bound music score books. These have been printed on high-quality stock with durable covers to ensure their suitability for repeated use and reference, allowing users to play along to their favourite songs time and time again.

The outer gift box lid boasts an image flip lenticular, which changes smoothly between designs when moved to produce a wonderfully ethereal effect. The use of a 501pi lens has resulted in a high-quality image that really showcases the exquisite art.

Within the gift box, core dyed black materials provide a subtle but premium feel, while allowing the beautiful album art to take centre stage. A simple and unobtrusive fitment has been expertly designed to secure all elements of the gift set in place, while ribbons allow the user to access the books and the LP with ease.

As a unique addition for fans to treasure, each gift set includes a stunning art card of the album cover, which has been signed by Pat Metheny himself. This art card is digitally printed on smooth Fedrigoni Splendorgel stock, finished with a limited-edition gold foil, and can be mounted separately from the gift box, providing the opportunity for an eye-catching display piece.
