At GPA we thrive off being people-centric, it’s what makes us, well, us! And that starts at home. From our employees to our shareholders, and every stakeholder inbetween, putting people first is what we do.
We’ve always believed that investing in your people is the cornerstone of any successful business. That’s why the health and safety of our employees, the personal development of our team, and diversity and inclusion are always on the agenda.
Making sure our people grow professionally alongside our company is what we do. That’s why we give every member of our team the chance to grow professionally, through a number of different programs. From cyber security, product development, sustainability, health and safety, and materials training, our team has access to some of the most revered training programs and methods out there.
Change is about challenging the inequities in society, wherever they exist. For GPA that means ensuring we are challenging biases every day and ensuring diversity is at the heart of our growth. That’s why we set ourselves an initial target of having 40% of our managerial positions filled by women.
It’s one thing to develop packaging solutions that are safe for the environment, but what about the safety of our team? At GPA we ensure the appropriate training is provided for everyone who needs it, and that we use the latest state-of-the-art equipment to combat any inefficiencies, while also ensuring that on-site first aiders are active in each one of our sites.
We’re a company that embeds our ethical principles into all our operations. Our code of conduct discusses the principles, policies, and regulations to assist us on our sustainability journey. We are also a member of the UN Global Compact, whose ten principles are integrated into our code of conduct. This aids us in meeting the fundamental responsibilities in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.
Sustainability is everyone’s issue, that’s why our team has access to the most innovative sustainability training on the market. In 2021, we launched a company-wide sustainability training initiative.
Incept, whose e-learning tool has become one of the most innovative sustainability training methods available, offers real-world insights into sustainability, while directly relating it to your work. This data-driven approach provides us with an overview of where to further develop our sustainability efforts – with an action plan that enables both bottom-up and top-down change at the same time.
